In addition to the $100 per lot deposit included on your invoice for shipping, your card will be charged and you will receive an updated invoice for any charges over and above the deposit for the cost of shipping (including the box(es), carrier fees and $50 handling per lot). Luiseño painter Fritz Scholder worked on the leading edge of contemporary Western art, which occasionally put him at odds with more traditional styles. Never has that been more apparent than here with American Businessman, an audacious image of a suited figure in a Christ-like pose. Scholder didn’t invent modernism in the West, but he certainly pushed it further than others, and did so with artwork that explored the people and traditions that were then, and still today, iconic pieces of the American West.
