SHIPPING
If you are shipping your items out of state, you may or may not have to pay tax for your state. After the auction, if you are the winning bidder you will be emailed the link to our Shipping Form to fill out (as soon as possible). The form requires a credit card. In addition to the $100 per lot deposit included on your invoice for shipping, your card will be charged and you will receive an updated invoice for any charges over and above the deposit for the cost of shipping (including the box(es), carrier fees and $50 handling per lot).

IMPORTANT: If you choose to coordinate shipping through a third party shipping company or pickup your items from the auction we are required by Arizona State law to charge Arizona sales tax on this transaction AND our insurance will not cover the shipment.

There is a quiet sense of anticipation in James Reynolds' Moonlight Meeting, where two mounted riders pause beneath a vast desert sky illuminated by the soft glow of moonlight. Rather than relying on dramatic action, Reynolds builds the composition through atmosphere, allowing cool blues, silvery highlights, and broad passages of shadow to evoke the stillness of the Southwestern night. The intimate exchange between the figures draws the viewer into the narrative, while the expansive landscape reinforces the solitude and grandeur of the frontier.
 
Known for his evocative portrayals of the American West, Reynolds has earned a respected place among contemporary Western painters through his ability to balance historical authenticity with painterly expression. His confident brushwork and sensitive handling of light bring depth and immediacy to familiar Western themes without sacrificing their timeless appeal. Originally handled by Dan May & Associates in Scottsdale in 1994 and later preserved in an Arizona private collection, Moonlight Meeting reflects the qualities that have made Reynolds' work a favorite among collectors of Western art.
