Painters of Grand Tetons National Park, by Donna L. Poulton and James L. Poulton, published by Gibbs Smith, 2015, p. 209
The location of the painting is in Buffalo Valley, WY, just east of Grand Teton National Park. This large studio painting was done using a 11" x 14" plein air study. About 30 minutes into the study, the artist was engulfed in huge flakes of the incoming snow storm and had to pack up in a hurry. He liked the view so much that he drove back to the location the next day to finish. Jay Moore knew he would have to paint this view on a monumental scale as he was standing there.
