Using minimalist design, vibrant color and choppy brushstrokes that emphasized kinetic movement, LeRoy Neiman essentially invented his own art style that merged impressionism with expressionism and then filtered it through American culture starting in the 1950s. His work was ubiquitous in magazines and advertising for decades, including in every issue of Playboy. This 1959 work showing a Las Vegas table game was completed during an active period for the artist, who frequently painted casino subjects through the early 1970s.
