On his painting Aggravation, artist Gordon Snidow writes: “This painting was done as a result of my visit to the Quien Sabe Ranch. This Spanish named ranch is in the panhandle of Texas. A cowboy always has trouble catching his horse because horses are just naturally wild. After the horse is caught and ridden all morning, the cowboy will put his horse in the pen while he works the cattle. When the cowboy comes back to mount the horse, it acts like it hasn’t even seen him before, even though his saddle is on its back. It is just aggravation, especially because the cowboy’s rope is usually on the saddle and he has no way to catch the animal!”
