One of the Taos Six, Robert Daughters’s paintings are reminiscent of some of his forebears in that art-layered town. Think of Blumenschein and Higgins, for example. Or think of Ufer and Phillips. Tom Trumble sees some Van Gogh in Chamisa, Velarde Valley—that’s there, too. It’s the soft, thick, waves of forms, the movement Daughters gets, as if the light and the wind are whispering and conspiring.
