Cartoonist Boots Reynolds paints cowboy life where, as Ed Trumble calls it, that life is “over the edge of good taste and good sense.” Eatin’ Out is pure satire, but Poetry in Motion shows that Reynolds knows his Western Art. It’s a great pastiche of several Charlie Russell bucking bronc paintings. Along with Mike Scovel and Bonnie Shields, Boots Reynolds formed Cowboy Cartoonists International in 1992. CCI now has twenty members and the organizations mounts several group exhibits every year.
