Clark Hulings painted all around the world, from Mexico to France, Egypt to New York, Yugoslavia to Greece, Turkey to the American South. And yet his paintings are uniquely tied to the Southwest due to his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Hulings didn’t have to venture far to find subjects: he frequently painted New Mexico destinations such as Taos, Chimayo, Trampas and, seen here, the San Ildefonso Pueblo.
